Do you hear the people sing? Lost in the valley of the night It is the music of a people who are climbing to the light For the wretched of the earth There is a flame that never dies Even the darkest nights will end and the sun will rise
They will live again in freedom in the garden of the lord They will walk behind the ploughshare They will put away the sword The chain will be broken and all men will have their reward!
Will you join in our crusade? Who will be strong and stand with me? Somewhere beyond the barricade is there a world you long to see? Do you hear the people sing? Say, do you hear the distant drums? It is the future that they bring when tomorrow comes!
Before I saw the movie, when I would watch the 25th anniversary concert and listen to the soundtracks, I never understood why Enjolras was so popular. Then I saw Aaron Tveit in the movie and I realized why. I think every Les Mis fan loves a certain Enjolras from a production. You just have to find him(;
Okay, and while we're talking about Enjolras (Who is one of my favorite characters, by the way..), I found this picture and it made me smile.
I thought I would share this picture with my readers... It's a pronunciation guide to Les Misérables!
One I though I would add is that Les Misérables is pronounced lay-mizer-aab-l. Is it anyone elses pet peeve when people pronounce it Less-Miserable? I know it's mine. When people continually call it that , I just say to them, "Please Just call it Les Miz." (Though if I spell Les Miz, I like to spell it Les Mis. It's prettier that way:D)
Now for one of my favorite Les Mis pictures I found this weekend!
So excited about this blog!! I really love Les Misérables. The music, the story, everything about it. I admit, I haven't been a fan of it for long. Since October, I think. But when I like something, I get really excited about it. I've got the original cast on my iPod and I've watched the 10th and 25th anniversary concerts and I've seen the new movie three times. It is really one of the most fascinating musicals I've ever watched. I'm actually attempting reading the book (AKA the brick). I'm on part 2, book 2. It is a pretty awesome book! So basically, on this blog, I'll be posting pictures from or about Les Misérables. I'm pretty sure that's it. Hope you enjoy the blog(:
